Answer
Question: What is the best way to boost my carpet cleaning detergent for heavy soil?

Answer: 1. The most simple way is of course to choose a detergent or pre-spray with a buffered higher pH such as Formula 90 Powder if the fibre is suitable, however this is not always possible if you are dealing with a heavily soiled delicate wool carpet so one of the following might be better in that case.
2. Choose a pre-spray detergent which is the most suitable for the soil type and conditions e.g. Express Lane which is a very slow drying pre spray for large commercial heavy soiled areas, this will put less strain on your detergent to do a good job.
3. Use Energiser which will boost the detergent molecules in your detergent and make it more active, brighten the colours of the carpet and improve your cleaning. One scoop to your ready mixed detergent is usually enough and this does not affect the pH of your original detergent and does not cause any fading to carpets. Energiser works in any detergent which is a pH of 7 and above.
4. Add an additive of Heavy Duty Soil Lifter to the tank with your detergent this will boost your detergents ability to cut through very greasy soiled carpets. Heavy Duty Soil Lifter is safe for use on wool carpet so does not affect the pH of your detergent only boosting the cleaning power. The dilution for using heavy Duty Soil Lifter as an additive is on the label along with the dilutions as a pre-spray for upholstery and carpets and for draught marks so this product is a very versatile addition to any professional carpet cleaners stocks.
Always pre-test any products carefully before use in an inconspicuous area.
